U.N. to Detail Kickbacks Paid for Iraq's Oil
By WARREN HOGE

This is an excellently written article. It sticks to the facts, listing them in a simple and elegant manner, without speculation or accusation. It all balances out. My compliments to Mr. Warren Hoge, the journalist who wrote this piece.

Grand Jurors Hear Counsel on Leak Case
By DAVID JOHNSTON and RICHARD W. STEVENSON

Another in a series of repeat articles, this article says, "More stuff happened today, but we don't know what it is. All we know is that nothing has changed yet, but we're going to take this opportunity to attack Bush's administration."

Doubts Raised on Saudi Vow for More Oil
By JEFF GERTH

Anonymous doubts by nameless people raised over whether or not the Saudis can actually carry through on the promise to increase oil production, with a pointing finger at Bush for trusting them / being in their pocket. There's very little news in this 'news article', merely speculation and political attacks. This article makes heavy use of unnamed experts and tangential data, but very little that supports its premise.

Of course there are doubts. The Times has doubts. But The Times can't seem to really name anyone important who has doubts. It's all based on 'secret government documents' and 'secret inside informants'.
